Iconia Tab A100 to cost $300, shipping in AugustPosted on: July 28, 2011
After many trials and tribulations, and much postponement, the Acer Iconia Tab A100 is finally getting ready to hit stores. It's coming in August, for an estimated price of $300, even less than what was rumored before. We've been waiting for this 7-inch slate since May, when it was initially supposed to launch.
The 7-inch tablet features a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, weighs 470 grams and has a thickness of 13.1mm, which is a bit chunky compared to other slates. Packing a dual core Tegra 250 processor at 1GHz and 512MB of RAM, the tablet will come installed with Android Honeycomb, and compatibility issues between the 7-inch display and Honeycomb is what caused the slate to be delayed in the first place.
If you ask us, this $300 7-inch tablet by Acer should really deliver high performance and snappiness if it wants to become popular and sell well. We're waiting for it to hit stores, in early August, until then you can start saving up some extra cash.
